knowledge and skills among the fluctuations of the Italian school

“La scuola dell’obbligo tra conoscenze e competenze”. E’ questa la questione centrale nell’attuale dibattito non soltanto italiano ma europeo sull’istruzione. “Scuola dell’obbligo per apprendere cosa?” ci si chiede sempre più insisted not only among experts of Education. The question is more topical than ever when the recent reform ("Gelmini") of orders, reducing the financial resources, the permanent teaching staff, hours of lessons per week, requires educational institutions to make choices, to times of sacrifice, and to take priority. And among the choices to make, one I certainly comes as a determinant: continue to transmit knowledge (knowledge) or develop skills (skills, attitudes, skills)? Cultural orientations and "political" and the sensitivity of each could easily lead to hasty responses. But every certainty here, more than ever, would appear to me (borrowing a concept of cultural anthropology and economic Tullio Tentori) an adverse risk. On this question - and on issues related to it - should begin, or rather, continue within the Graduate School, University rather than the sterile, the work of an intensive action research and qualifying for the next year even if the continuous destabilization of the scenarios in the last decade sociosphere increasingly complex and changing, it would seem to direct the direction of the study, more than the knowledge on the development of individual skills that someone, some 'simplistically interpreted and translated as skills. And yet, you can not even give apodictically to "knowledge" in the name of a proactive approach and a method to ..., to ... In an even balancing of the new quadrangle of the dynamics of "knowledge", "know how" - "know being "and" know how to choose, "as psicopedagista with 43 years of experience in various fields of training I Sergio Andreatta, a pupil at La Sapienza di Roma Mauro Laeng, related to the implications not give up, and so should not believe our school Italian , none of these vertices of the debate, like a compass can not give up any of the cardinal points that qualify it as such. © - Sergio Andreatta

Biography [edit]

Brouwer was born in Havana, and went to the United States to study music University of Hartford and later at the Juilliard School, where he studied composition with Stefan Wolpe and Vincent Persichetti. His early works show the influence of Cuban folk music, but during the sixties and seventies, Brouwer was interested in music of modernist composers such as Luigi Nono and Iannis Xenakis, using indeterminacy in works such as Sonograma I.
Other works from this period include the guitar pieces Canticum (1968), La Espiral Eternal (1971), Parabola (1973) and Tarantos (1974). More recently, Brouwer's works have embraced more traditional styles, to minimalism. The work for solo guitar El Decameron Negro (1981), the Sonata (1990, for Julian Bream) and Paisaje Campanas Cuban (1996) are an example of this trend.

Brouwer has several official posts in Cuba, including the direction of the music faculty of the Cinema Institute of Cuba His works consist largely of pieces for solo guitar by several guitar concertos and more forty film scores.

Curiosities [edit]
- The sixth part of his Etudes Simples (Estudios Sencillos) was quoted by the heavy metal guitarist Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne as he worked with) in the introduction to the song "Diary of a Madman."

- The No Estudio 5 Leo Brouwer, taken from the first series of Estudios Sencillos, was recorded by Leo Brouwer himself in a double album in 2004 entitled "Homo Ludens" (produced by Hummingbird). This version is enriched by the voice of Silvio Rodríguez who also wrote the text:

An angel on canción y fue a buscar a los ojos the pregunta en que se bañó la tarde y un arco iris soñado le dijo tenme y yo seré tu canción.

El ángel voló siete tonos de luz y una estela cantarina fue trazando en el viento
